Description | Regime-allied party founded and led by former Transport Minister, Innocent Anaky, who was also the adopted son of President Félix Houphouët-Boigny.
Anaky called for the overthrow of former president (2000-2010) and Houphouët-Boigny enemy, Laurent Gbagbo, and though its leader (Anaky) was arrested, the MFA found favor with the two out-of-power Houphouët-Boigny parties as a consequence; the Rally of the Republic and its mother, the Democratic Party.
The three are now co-joined in the "Rally of Houphouëtists for Democracy and Peace" alliance and have overwhelming power in the country [Mouvement des Forces de l'Avenir (MFA)]. |
