| Description | The Keystone Party (1910--1916) was a forerunner of the Progressive Party in PA. It was formed to protest the control of the two major parties by political bosses. The appearance of the Washington Party (affiliate of the national Progressive Party) in PA divided the anti-boss voters, and the Keystone Party after 1912 tended only to endorse like-minded candidates from the major parties. Its last candidates ran in 1916. |
