The KPRF is the Russian Federation's successor to the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. Following the breakup of the USSR the KPRF gradually increased their seats in the Duma until a large drop in 2003. Their economic platform has become more social-democratic as opposed to communist in recent years, and their domestic policy nationalist.
