Description | Gay marriage bill blocked in Kentucky
The Washington Times
A proposed state constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage failed by a single vote to advance from a Kentucky House committee. The bill failed to get out of the House Committee on Elections, Constitutional Amendments and Intergovernmental Affairs Tuesday. House Republicans who support a ban on gay marriage and same sex unions were furious with Democrats who voted against it or did not vote at all, the Lexington Herald Leader reported. The measure needed seven votes to advance and came up one vote short. |
