Description | A special meeting of Selectmen in Sabattus has been called to discuss the removal of local resident David Marsters from numerous town committees after he referred to President Barack Obama using a racial slur and called for him to be shot.
The Portland Press Herald is reporting that the Board of Selectmen chairman, Mark Duquette, called the meeting following backlash regarding Marsters’ controversial post on Facebook. It is scheduled to take place Thursday night.
Last Friday, Marsters, 68, reportedly published a picture of Obama to the social networking site. Under it, he wrote “Shoot the…” followed by a racial slur. On Tuesday, the Secret Service arrived to discuss the matter with Marsters himself, in addition to local authorities. |
