Description | John Bolton is increasingly serious about a 2016 presidential bid. National Review's Robert Costa scoops that the George W. Bush-era U.S. ambassador to the United Nations is about to start hiring for his political operation.
Bolton would likely be the only candidate in the 2016 Republican field to support gay marriage. How that would jibe with the party's socially conservative base remains to be seen.
But Bolton's main calling card is foreign policy. That is, advocating for a robust, assertive approach, in contrast with the isolationist tendencies of Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), another likely 2016 aspirant. |
