Description | "House Republicans haven’t made it very far in their attempt to repeal the Affordable Care Act, but they have been successful in keeping their fingerprints off of Obamacare and making sure it remains the sole property of Obama and the Democrats. Several governors have said no to setting up their own Obamacare health exchanges, and today House Speaker John Boehner and Sen. Mitch McConnell let the president know he’s on his own with his Independent Payment Advisory Board, also known as the “rationing board” or, better yet, the Obamacare “death panel.”
Today Senator McConnell and I informed President Obama that we will not be recommending appointments to IPAB – the administration’s health care rationing board that will have the ability to deny seniors access to care. This unelected, unaccountable board should be scrapped along with all of the president’s health care law, which is raising costs and hurting seniors, young people and workers. Next week the House will vote on full repeal so we can begin laying the groundwork for patient-centered reforms that lower costs and increase access to quality care." |
