Description | Congressman Steve King announced Friday night that he will not be running for U.S. Senate.
U.S. Senator Harkin’s retirement announcement in January created a political stirring in Iowa, and Republican State Senator Joni Ernst is feeling the shifting waters.
“A lot of introspection” is filling Ernst as she weighs whether Harkin’s chair in Washington, D.C. was built for her – or someone like U.S. Congressman Steve King.
“I had a conversation with Congressman King last week,” Ernst said. “He is still trying to make that determination. I want to make sure he is certain of what he wants to do, then I’ll go from there.” |
