| Description | State Rep. Lisa Baldelli Hunt, a Democrat, announced today that she would be running for Mayor of Woonsocket.
The city has off-year elections, and the Mayoral race would culminate in an election this November. Baldelli Hunt told WPRO that this would be the final off-year election for the city, and whoever wins this mayoral race would serve a three-year term.
Baldelli Hunt will be challenged by Green Party newcomer David Fisher, who announced his candidacy via YouTube in February.
It’s unclear is Republican incumbent Mayor Leo Fontaine will seek re-election. |
