Description | East Orange Mayor Robert Bowser has his eyes on the top spot — specifically the top row of the June 4 primary ballot.
Bowser, a Democrat and four-term incumbent, officially announced his reelection bid this week in a little-noticed press release that included one curiosity: the mayor's aide, Troy Webster, is also running for governor.
In what promises to be a fierce Democratic primary race for mayor, Bowser has teamed with state Senate candidate Mark Alexander, a former Obama aide in the 2008 election who aims to unseat Sen. Nia Gill (D-Essex) in the 34th District. |
