Description"JOHNSTOWN, Pa (AP) — Former western Pennsylvania Congressman Mark Critz has taken a job with a Colorado-based consulting firm that promotes natural gas drilling and hydraulic fracturing, known as fracking.

EIS Solution says Critz, a Democrat who lost to Republican U.S. Rep. Keith Rothfus in November after redistricting, will serve as a senior vice president based in Johnstown, Critz’s hometown about 60 miles east of Pittsburgh.

Critz co-chaired the Marcellus Shale Natural Gas Caucus while in Congress, a seat he won in a May 2010 special election to replace his mentor and former boss, U.S. Rep. John Murtha of the 12th District, who died in office.

Critz says he’ll work to “grow our economy and meet our energy needs” while “working to make sure that our region develops these resources in a safe, responsible manner.”
