| Description | The house clerk for the Northern Marianas Commonwealth Legislature minutes ago confirmed that CNMI Gov. Benigno Fitial has resigned from his position as governor.
House Clerk Linda Muna said the communication from the governor's office says the resignation is effective as of 10 a.m. this morning.
Lt. Gov. Eloy Inos is expected to be installed as governor to replace Fitial.
A swearing-in ceremony will be held at 1:30 p.m. for the new governor and lieutenant governor in Saipan.
Senate President Jude Hofschneider will become the new lieutenant governor. |
