DescriptionIn the challenge of slowing down the hectic pace of life, it can often seem as though we've squeezed out any time for thoughtfulness and contemplation as we go about our daily lives. But one man's got an idea how to change that and perhaps the power to do so.

In the tranquility of his living room in Youngstown, Ohio, 39-year-old Tim Ryan is conducting his 30-minute morning ritual. He is meditating: slowing his breathing and clearing his head of clutter.

"How much faster literally can we go, until you are so distracted all the time that you're actually missing your life?" he asked.

If this all looks and sounds a bit New-Agey, guess again. Congressman Tim Ryan will tell you the New Age is now. "It's a quiet revolution that's happening," he said.

I do not pray or meditate on a regular basis, but I have done both.

I've tried but my mind never stops thinking. I tried to get to those higher planes of consciousness but the closest I've come is using frankincense to get more vivid dreams. Has anyone experienced anything deep?

Although it's not quite the same, I have experienced lucid dreaming and sleep paralysis on several occasions.

My dreams are mostly mundane so when weird things do start happening a part of my brain is alert enough to tell itself that it's all just a dream and then I can control my actions. I've never been able to control other aspects of the dream, on MY actions.

The first time I experiences sleep paralysis, it scared me. But like with lucid dreaming, now I realize what it is so it's no longer firghtening.
