DescriptionHe's the fourth Republican aiming at Russ Feingold's spot

Bear Creek native Robert Gerald Lorge officially joined the list seeking the state's Republican nomination for U.S. Senate on Monday.

In an appearance before nine supporters, including his family, at the Brown County Courthouse, Lorge emphasized his underdog status against "two millionaires and two career politicians."

The "millionaires" was a reference to auto dealer Russ Darrow and businessman Tim Michels, while the "politicians" were Redgranite state Sen. Robert Welch and incumbent Democrat Russ Feingold.

Lorge, the brother of past candidate Bill Lorge and son of longtime state Sen. Gerald Lorge, ran for secretary of state as a Republican two years ago, getting 71 percent of the primary vote but losing in the final to Douglas La Follette.
