DescriptionIn 1980, Ronald Reagan was down in the polls like Mitt Romney. Not as badly, but still down. Ronald Reagan was the Republican candidate and urged independent John B. Anderson be included in a Presidential debate. He made it into one. Incumbent President Jimmy Carter declined to go striking some as kinda a whiner because he didn't want to debate both Reagan and Anderson. It was an Anderson vs. Reagan debate. That could have hurt Jimmy Carter. Reagan won by a landslide and Anderson won 6.6%. (Really good for a 3rd party.) If Mitt Romney has the integrity Reagan did of supporting fairness and options uncensored, could this make him seem more respected? Could this help Gary Johnson too? Reagan could win because he seems fair. Johnson makes history by breaking the Libertarian record of 1.1% held currently by Ed Clark. Coincidentally, also in 1980. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=275267172583468&set=a.230529450390574.46273.114856578624529&type=1&theater
