| Description | The Obama campaign is stepping up its use of the man who may be the president’s most powerful surrogate—former President Bill Clinton. He appears in a new TV ad, vouching for Mr. Obama’s stewardship of the economy.
The goal: transfer positive feelings voters have about the economy under Mr. Clinton to Mr. Obama.
“This election to me is about which candidate is more likely to return us to full employment,” Mr. Clinton says to the camera. “The Republican plan is to cut more taxes on upper-income people and go back to deregulation. That’s what got us in trouble in the first place.” |
