The former Alabama Democratic congressman, who endorsed Barack Obama early, seconded his nomination at the Democratic convention four years ago, then lost a 2010 gubernatorial primary and switched parties, will speak at the Republican National Convention in Tampa.
The RNC announced his name this morning with five others — serious and impressive party leaders, including Rob Portman, Bob McDonnell, Kelly Ayotte and Bobby Jindal. Florida Senate candidate Connie Mack was also on the list. |
