Description | With the presidential election heating up, the last few weeks for Mitt Romney haven't been so positive.
New reports this week reveal that the Republican challenger is stashing millions of dollars in multiple offshore accounts in Bermuda and the Cayman Islands. While the majority of Americans can't relate to the former CEO of Bain Capital, many in the Republican party actually support the actions of Mitt Romney.
Think Progress reports that veteran Republican senator from South Carolina, Lindsey Graham, is defending Mitt Romney and believes the criticism against him has been unfair. Graham says that people shouldn't be critical of Romney and his offshore accounts because "it's really American to avoid paying taxes, legally." Graham blames the "complicated" tax system for the ease at which people can move their money around. |
