DescriptionPresident Obama on Friday placed a call to Sandra Fluke, the Georgetown University law school student at the heart of the debate over the contraception law, thanking her for speaking out on the issue.

The call came a day after conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh demanded that Fluke release tapes of her having sex in exchange for the contraception that she argued should be covered by employers. Fluke was set to go on MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell Reports when the president rang her on her phone. She took the call while waiting in the green room.

Limbaugh's calling this activist "a slut" is freakin' hilarious. Anyone who doesn't think so has a stick up their ass.

Anyhoo, she's a former president of Law students for Reproductive Justice. They originally rejected her as a witness because of her credibility issues. They also never mention that she purposely attended Georgetown in order to challenge their unwillingness to provide birth control under existing medical insurance. In other words, she's a plant. Her testimony is about one order of magnitude better than when the Kuwaiti Ambassador's daughter claimed she saw babies being tossed out of incubators.

Plus, she probably IS a slut.

If you find it hilarious, your threshold for the humorous is pretty low.

Kevin's previous attempts at humor should have been indicative.

So instead of worrying about real issues, Obama is more worried about Rush Limbaugh. Oi.

It's possible to have more than one thing on your mind.

Unless you're a Republican. Then all that's on your mind is hiding your closeted gay urges. Or tax cuts.

I just think the president of the United States shouldn't be involved with what radio talk show hosts say on the air. They should be above the moral fray, especially when it has nothing to do about Obama.

Any chance we can trade Mike's return for Mr. Politics'?

I frequently talk to Mr. Politics and I don't think he'll come back unless some of the crap stops around here.

Give him my regards then.

Furthermore, I appreciate that you haven't yet reverted back to your habit of complaining about other users. My earlier comment was probably a sufficient trigger to do just that, but you resisted, and that's commendable.

Not apologizing for my comment, as I meant what I said and will spare anyone the lie of a disingenuous backtrack. But I do concede that if you're just posting opinions I disagree with, that's cool.

Barack O-blame-a: Why is Obama worrying about Rush Limbaugh? Is he going to turn up dead next?

What crap ran him off? Was it that it's gotten to where people can't make a post without getting a bunch of meanlingless insults?

It doens't bother me but it does make it difficult to have a discussion.

Honestly Kal, part of what exiled him off was how the site treats you compared to 1196, who he feels rehashes stories when he posts and doesn't contribute anything. There are a few other things, but since you posted, I will say that.

And Karma, I made one post in jest, but it seems like the majority really don't try anymore. I don't know if it's because there aren't many differing viewpoints or what it is but it's interesting compared some other political sites.

And which political sites would those be? I'm honestly curious.

When I read Dave Leip's site, for example, it seems like there is some good debate that occurs. It may be because there are more Republicans or a different power structure, but it seems like the trolls are treated as such while the good members are respected and when debate does happen, it usually happens in a respectful manner.

Couldn't help but bring me up, eh? I can only imagine what conversations you and Mr. Politics have about me, but then again, I don't really care.

Although we do chuckle occasionally because most of your posts are simply 2+2=4 posts or simple "agree" posts, it's more about how the site interacts with you. I know you didn't ask for it, but it seems like the site rushes to your defense anytime someone with a differing opinion challenges you. The perfect example is the Anthony Weiner thread from summer 2010.

I didn't know Dave Leips site had political stuff too. I thought it was just the maps. I'll have to check that out.

Same site, just look for "Forum" at the top. A Prominent former user of this site is a moderator there.

Maybe. Too many democrats who would rather attack someone than have a ration discussion would certainly do it.

Immature behavior made me less active.

If I wanted to be insulted or given a "thumbs down" by a **** load of people who I really didn't give a damn about, I spend more time on Facebook.

The inability to have a rational discussion without wading through a bunch meaningless insults has led me to contribute far less.

In the past I posted several more articles and comments. But why bother if they are only going to elicit sneers and insults. Since there is far less reason to expect rational discussion, why should I bother?

Asking "what did she do to get called a slut?" over and over again as if you think it's a possibility that she intended to go before Congress and talk about how she loves to suck random cocks is not "rational discussion."
