| Description | Syracuse, N.Y. -- The Onondaga County Republican Committee today became the first county GOP committee in New York to endorse Manhattan attorney Wendy Long's campaign for U.S. Senate.
Long, one of two Republicans who have announced plans to run this year against U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, was in Syracuse with Republican committee Chairman Tom Dadey when Dadey announced the endorsement at a 1:30 p.m. news conference.
Nassau County Comptroller George Maragos is the other Republican who has declared his candidacy for the seat.
