Description | U.S. Rep. Anne Northup's re-election chairman says a former employee has repaid the Louisville Republican's campaign $23,990 that she misappropriated from the campaign, plus the $17,000 cost of an audit that uncovered the problem.
Northup's 3rd District campaign said in its latest report to the Federal Election Commission that Stephine Stottmann of Louisville paid the campaign $40,990 on Dec. 30. Stottmann declined to comment.
The episode also cost Stottmann a later job as a legislative assistant with Metro Councilwoman Julie Raque Adams, R-18th District, Northup campaign chairman Ted Jackson said. Stottmann had gone to work for Adams after the 2002 campaign ended.
