Description | MADISON — The Government Accountability Board completed its scanning of all petitions in the recall effort against Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker. These petitions were expected to be posted online to the GAB’s website Monday, but late Monday afternoon, the GAB issued a statement saying these petitions will not be posted Monday, as the GAB is “evaluating the privacy concerns of individuals who have contacted us about posting the petitions online.”
Recall petitions against four Republican state senators were scanned last week and placed online. They’ve since been viewed by more than 16,000 people, and more are expected to view the Walker recall petitions.
In total, G.A.B. staff scanned more than 152,300 petition pages for the Governor’s recall, of which approximately 71,000 were delivered earlier this week. The Board has not yet estimated the number of signatures on the petitions, as the signature review process is just beginning. |
