Description | A Johnson County businesswoman announced her Democratic challenge to Sen. Sam Brownback this morning, saying the Republican incumbent is too entrenched in Washington to serve Kansans.
"He does not support working men and women," said Joan Ruff, 56, who is the first Democrat filing paperwork to take on Brownback, who is seeking election to his second full term in the U.S. Senate.
Ruff lives in Mission Woods. Most recently she's worked at Zurich Financial Services, where she was responsible for planning, human resources and designing a corporate responsibility system.
