Description | Last week, the state legislature passed new congressional and legislative maps. I thought that I would analyze the new state senate districts that have been drawn by the state legislature. I have created a PVI for each district that analyzes average Democratic/Republican performance over 15 races (2004: President, U.S. Senate, Governor, Auditor; 2008: President, U.S. Senate, Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, Auditor, Insurance Commissioner, Agriculture Commissioner, Labor Commissioner, Superintendent of Public Instruction; 2010: U.S. Senate). Average Democratic performance was 50.4% and average Republican performance was 48.3%. See below for maps of each district and analysis of each district as well as my own commentary.
