| Description | As the Daily Politics predicted yesterday, Republican City Councilman Peter Koo crossed party lines today and threw his support to Assemblyman David Weprin, a Democrat running for Anthony Weiner’s empty congressional seat in the 9th district.

Koo, a Queens businessman, helped host an event for Weprin at the Flushing Chinese Business Association.
“David Weprin is long-time public servant, a community leader and friend of the Asian American Community,” Koo said.
“He has worked to empower our newly emerging immigrant communities and has assisted many new Americans to prosper and become productive members of our society.
"David embraces new immigrants and he knows the importance of having the opportunity to achieve the American Dream. He understands that our diversity is our strength here in Flushing and in this great City." |
