Description | It may not make for the best political strategy, but Newt Gingrich is laughing all the way to the beach.
Mr. Gingrich’s presidential schedule shows him campaigning in Hawaii on Saturday and Monday, thousands of miles — and a big ocean — away from Iowa and New Hampshire.
Mr. Gingrich, the former speaker of the House, has largely dropped off the political radar after several early gaffes and the implosion of his campaign operation. Most of his campaign aides quit this summer in part, they said, because of a disagreement over campaign strategy.
But he remains part of the Republican presidential field and continues to take part in the televised debates. |
