Description | Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel hopes to see Illinois follow New York in legalizing same-sex marriage, though he wouldn’t weigh in on President Barack Obama’s refusal to endorse gay marriage.
“I would hope that the state would move in that direction,” the former White House chief of staff said in an interview with CNN on Wednesday when asked about New York’s move to legalize gay marriage. “Tremendous progress has been made across the country on a value statement. And I think that’s very important.”
