Description | Turnout appears to be strong in New York's 26th Congressional District.
In Erie County, the Board of Elections commissioner, Dennis E. Ward, told the New York Times that about 10 percent of voters had turned out just before noon.
“This is based on anecdotal evidence,” Mr. Ward said. “It’s a little higher than normal, but nothing astronomical.”
Higher than anticipated turnout in Erie County would appear to benefit Kathy Hochul, who needs a substantial margin in the Democratic-performing area to win. |
