DescriptionRepublican Tom Emmer will concede the Minnesota govenror's race to DFLer Mark Dayton on Wednesday morning, according to a KSTP-TV news report.

Dayton had led the long-running race since all the ballots were counted and through a month long recount.

The report was attributed to three unnamed Republican sources and said that Emmer would concede at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in his hometown of delano, about 35 miles west of the twin Cities.

On Tuesday, Emmer team withdrew the bulk of their ballot challenges and was faced with a Minnesota Supreme Court decision that tossed the foundation of a possible election lawsuit.

As of 10:10 p.m. no one from the Dayton team had heard anything official from the Emmer campaign.

A lead attorney for Emmer acknowledged Tuesday that it is no longer possible for Emmer to win the statewide recount against DFLer Mark Dayton.

"We're almost done now," Emmer attorney Eric Magnuson said of the recount process.
