DescriptionElection officials have completed a re-canvass of the Kentucky congressional race between incumbent Ben Chandler and Andy Barr, and say that the totals match and that Chandler has been certified as the winner of the election.

Democratic Rep. Chandler held a 600-vote lead over Republican challenger Barr with 100 percent of precincts reporting from last week's election in the Lexington-area 6th Congressional district.

Barr asked the state to re-canvass the votes from the 16-county district. Officials said that the results of the re-canvass will be faxed to the secretary of state's office.
