DescriptionTALLAHASSEE — As he did in the primary, Republican candidate Rick Scott is pumping millions of his personal wealth into his campaign account in an effort to keep the Florida governor's mansion in GOP hands for the next four years.

The latest campaign reports for the race, filed Friday, show that Scott loaned his campaign $1.7 million on Oct. 4, the same day his campaign spent that exact amount on television advertising.

During the same period, Scott's political committee, Let's Get to Work, took in $659,000, spent more than $1.5 million and had virtually wiped out the $14 million in the account, according to reports filed Friday.

The political committee affiliated with Democratic candidate Alex Sink, Hold Them Accountable, brought in $41,500 during the most recent period and has spent none of the $103,000 she has collected since opening the account in August.

Meanwhile, her campaign account collected $420,000 during the same period but spent $3.7 million she had raised earlier on television ads.
