Sharpton said Schneiderman "has stood across racial and ideological lines to stand for what is right, whether it was leading the fight in Albany around the miscount of those incarcerated in the census, whether standing with us just a few weeks ago at the House of Justice, about the stop-and-frisk data, where there's been cases of police misconduct or violence against police, Eric has shown courage. He has shown that he will go against the grain if he feels it's right. And that is the character that we need in a state Attorney General -- not one that will do us favors, but will do us fair."
