Description | EDMONTON — Alberta's surging Wildrose Alliance Party is picking a new leader.
Party members from across the province are meeting at a south-Edmonton hotel to decide whether Danielle Smith or Mark Dyrholm will take the reins from interim leader Paul Hinman.
Hinman, a former legislature member under the Alberta Alliance banner, gave Wildrose a big boost of credibility last month when he won a byelection in the riding of Calgary-Glenmore.
It's the party's only seat, but it's one the governing Progressive Conservatives had held for more than 35 years. |
