DescriptionThe NRA (National Rifle Association) called me today and asked me to listen to a message from its president, Wayne LaPierre, and then take a short one question survey. A pre-recorded Mr. LaPierre then informed me of a sinister UN plot against the United States.

It seems that the UN is negotiating treaties all over the world to remove our guns, treaties that are just waiting for a sympathetic anti-gun Congress to ratify and then begin to seize all of the guns in the United States. A person came on after Mr. LaPierre with a simple one question survey: "Do I wish the United Nations to pass a treaty allowing third-world dictators and Hillary Clinton to take our guns away?" When I asked for clarification of this UN plot in the form of, "Was this nefarious treaty originating in the Secretariat, the Security Council, or the General Assembly?", there was a long silence and I was referred to the Glenn Beck University of I Don't Know as identified on Olbermann's program last evening. The scary part came when I asked whether Secretary of State Clinton would deputize third world troops to seize US guns or if they would just send in the Black Helicopters to land in our front lawns and grab our guns, the called didn't seem to immediately identify that I was having some fun at his expense, but kept up with his script as if I was making a serious point. He started repeating the question about third world dictators and started to get wise when I told him that if a third-world dictator provided me with health insurance, I would give him my guns. I was about to yell "You Lie" at him, but he hung up first.
