Description | "A FUNDRAISING SKEET SHOOT? Think U.S. Rep. Jason Altmire, D-McCandless, isn't a bit concerned over a possible challenge from Republican state Rep. Mike Turzai of Bradford Woods?
The two-term congressman has been busy raising money since word broke that Turzai might attempt to unseat him next year. And yes, he's even held a fundraising skeet shoot.
Turzai is expected to announce his decision within the next few weeks.
Since the beginning of May, Altmire has had $500-per-person fundraisers at Johnny's Half Shell, a trendy Washington, D.C., seafood restaurant; a Penguins-Washington Capitals playoff game in D.C.'s Verizon Center; the Prince George's County (Maryland) Trap and Skeet Center; and Sonoma, a D.C. restaurant and wine bar, not to be confused with the local Sonoma Grille on Penn Avenue, Downtown.
If that weren't enough, US Oncology, an oncology services provider, hosted a more expensive $1,500-per-person luncheon for Altmire at a posh Pennsylvania Avenue eatery in D.C.
Next month, Altmire apparently will even hit up teenage girls for money. He has scheduled a fundraiser at a Jonas Brothers concert at the Verizon Center.
All of this pocketbook-padding makes us wonder: When does Altimre find time to legislate?" |
