President Obama’s news conference reached about 40 million viewers on Tuesday night, according to Nielsen Media Research.
The television ratings for his second prime-time conference were down about 18 percent from a similar event he held on Feb. 9, when about 49.5 million viewers tuned in.
Nielsen said that the press conference, broadcast on 11 broadcast networks and cable channels, averaged a household rating of 25.9. That translates to about one in four households with televisions that watched Mr. Obama answer questions, most of which centered on the economy. |
