DescriptionNEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Stocks slumped to session lows in late morning trade Monday, with the Dow industrials losing more than 200 points, or nearly 3%, with investors finding no end in sight to the woes affecting the economy and its banks. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was recently off 202 points, or 2.9%, at 6,859. The blue-chip average earlier slipped through the 7,000 mark for the first time since October 1997, continuing last week's slump to 12-year lows.
