It's official: Colorado casts its votes for Obama

Description | Colorado officially cast its nine Electoral College votes today for Democrat Barack Obama in a ceremony filled with history and humor.
The noon gathering in Gov. Bill Ritter's office was briefly delayed because one of the nine electors, Margaret Atencio, could not attend due to an illness.
Longtime Democratic Party activist Vivian Stovall of Denver said she was home washing her hair when she got the call this morning asking if she would step in.
"I'm so honored," she said after the ceremony. "I'm still in a daze. To me it's the best because after all of these years of being involved in the political process I can't do any better."
Other electors also talked about being a part of history and helping elect the first black president of the United States... |
