Description
"I think the chief's got just about the highest name recognition in town, and simply from a charisma sense, I think he's got a pretty good shot," said outgoing 1st Ward City Council Member Jerry Blakey, who also has had mayoral ambitions in the past. Finney, too, could face a considerable field of others challenging Mayor Randy Kelly. Ramsey County Commissioners Rafael Ortega and Susan Haigh have been weighing their odds, and Jay Benanav hasn't ruled out a rematch with Kelly, who narrowly edged out the 4th Ward council member in 2001.
