Description | Democrat Kathleen Blanco remained stable, Republican Bobby Jindal went up by two points and widened the gap to eight points in the latest tracking poll out Tuesday morning.
Pollster Verne Kennedy's poll of 600 taken through Monday night - and, therefore, unlikely to be affected by the statewide television debate - showed Jindal favored by 47.6 percent compared to Blanco's 39.5 percent and the remaining 12.9 percent undecided.
A week earlier, it was a 43-43 tie, growing to a 9-point lead for Jindal last Thursday, then constricting to a six-point lead through Saturday night.
