Description | It wasn't just a good night for Democrats.
It was huge.
They won what they expected to win -- especially the Indianapolis mayor's office -- although incumbent Bart Peterson's 63 percent share of the vote was more than they'd dared to expect.
They were winning where they had hoped to win -- especially the City-County Council -- although some races were too close to call late Tuesday night.
And they won in places where they'd never dared dream of winning in past years -- particularly Lawrence, where a Democrat has never been mayor. |
