Description | North Carolina's largest cigarette maker is seeking job-creation tax breaks after a merger, despite its earlier announcement of job cuts in the state.
R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. wants tax breaks for up to 1,000 positions it said it will create in the state at the same time it is in the process of slashing 2,600 jobs.
