Description | Gov. Joe Kernan expects to be signing into law in less than a month his first legislation -- measures that will give homeowners at least some respite from large property tax bills.
"I hope that's the case," Kernan, a Democrat, said. "Perhaps even sooner than that."
Kernan was thrust into the office of governor Sept. 13 when Gov. Frank O'Bannon died of a massive stroke. Kernan knows he's assured of only 14 months to put his stamp on the state of Indiana. |
