Description | Faced with a legal challenge from within his own Republican Party, Joe Montone of Falls has dropped out of the 8th District congressional race.
“We gave it a good shot and we did the best we could,” Montone said late Tuesday afternoon.
Tom Manion, a retired U.S. Marine colonel from Doylestown Township, now will run unopposed in the April 22 Republican primary, setting up a likely November showdown with freshman Congressman Patrick Murphy, D-8. Murphy is running unopposed in the Democratic primary. |
