Description | A ruling by the Mesa city attorney could give an advantage in the city’s mayoral race to candidate Scott Smith, who has financed more than half of his $140,000 campaign through personal loans.
City Attorney Debbie Spinner ruled this week that Vice Mayor Claudia Walters and former District 5 City Councilman Rex Griswold, Smith’s two opponents, will not be able to raise from third-party contributors an amount to match Smith’s personal contributions. |
