DescriptionDENVER -- Earl Dodge, the Prohibition Party's presidential candidate six times, died Wednesday, his family said.

He was 74. His daughter, Faith Nelson, said he collapsed at Denver International Airport while en route to Pennsylvania on business. The cause of death was not immediately available.

Dodge lived in Denver and owned a political-campaign memorabilia business.

He ran for president on the Prohibition ticket in every election since 1984. He was the party's vice presidential candidate in 1976 and 1980.

Howard Lydick, Dodge's running mate in 2004, said the pair planned another presidential run next year.

"He firmly believed in the party, more so than many people believe in anything," said Lydick, 78, of Richardson, Texas.

Dodge and Lydick were on the presidential ballot in only Colorado in 2000 and 2004. They got 208 votes in 2000 and 140 in 2004.

Dodge mounted 13 campaigns across nearly every level of government, beginning with a bid for City Council in Kalamazoo, Mich., in 1969. He never won a race.
