| Description | I wouldn't mind picking up and moving to Iowa for a year.
It's sixty miles down the road, it's got the same humdrum dreariness as Nebraska and the hardest political decisions being made there are between these ethereal rockstar Democrats like Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama and Joe Biden and everyone else that we'll never see here on the west bank of the Missouri.
Sigh.
Even better, you Iowans don't have to deal with the looming specter of a 2008 race for US Senate that involves not only Chuck Hagel - no, sir, that'd be too easy - but also a multifarious caste of political hooligans that's got the whole show being labeled a possible "marquee" race by Chris Cillizza and Shailagh Murray at the Washington Post.
There's state Attorney General John Bruning, an upstart GOP egomaniac who saw Hagel's serious inquests on Iraq last year as a window of political opportunity in his sick little house of cards.
He's bent on Hagel's destruction. |
