DescriptionWASHINGTON --Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse is among a group of Senate Democrats seeking an investigation into whether U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales committed perjury.

Whitehouse has signed a letter asking for a special counsel to look into whether Gonzalez perjured himself regarding the firings of U.S. attorneys and administration dissent over President Bush's domestic surveillance program.
