DescriptionSAN BERNARDINO — At Tuesday’s county board meeting, supervisors plan to add some firepower to the fight against gangs and will request a state-sponsored pilot program that will fit gang members with global positioning devices.

It is estimated that San Bernardino County is home to nearly 300 gangs and around 13,000 gang members.

Pending a vote at Tuesday’s meeting, the supervisors will take a position in support of Senate Bill 390, Senate Bill 657 and Assembly Bill 1630, all of which relate to harsher punishments and monitoring standards for gang members.
