Description | Columbus City Council members came to work last night expecting to appoint one new colleague.
They ended up appointing three.
Democrats Andrew Ginther and Priscilla Tyson, whose appointments in January came under fire last week by Republicans who said council's selection process is illegally hidden from public view, resigned to head off a potential lawsuit against the city.
They quickly were reappointed before the council selected a third new member who truly is new.
Hearcel Craig, a Franklin County employee and former head of the Hilltop Civic Council, was chosen unanimously to fill the vacancy created when Councilwoman Patsy Thomas was appointed to the Municipal Court bench. |
